New video from The Maccabees, I loved their debut album, but after hearing a sneak peak of their second I think they may just buck the trend of recent indie bands and their dreadful second albums and make an improved record. Time will tell...But this video is directed by friend of TropicalTV Mr. Dan Sully. Big Upz and ting. It's a great video.
Thanks. Love you all.

New Officer Ricky
TropicalTV's favourite pretend Miami drug-lord rapper Rick Ross may be losing the battle with 50 Cent on a personal school-playground level, but music wise, 50 Cent is being killed, Rick Ross tracks keep leaking and they are sounding crazy! He has enlisted the likes of Nas, Kanye West, Ja Rule ...yes Ja Rule for his latest releases, he is going HARD.
Download: Rick Ross ft. Nas - Usual Suspects
Thanks.

CUNTS OF THE WEEK

La Roux x Foamo
La Roux is amazing, tracks like 'In for the kill' have muso's across the land going nuts for her. Already making it one of the most written and blogged about tracks of the year. She has a great voice, mixed with infectious electro pop riffs, she is at this moment an unbeatable pop force. I hope 'In for the kill' does well in the charts.
Add to that every DJ and his mum remixing her...here is one of my favourite La Roux remixes by Foamo. HUGE.
Enjoy it free from the TropicalTV team...

My Week In Pictures
Fishermen on Kenya's Lake Turkana fear their lives could be ruined by the construction of one of Africa's biggest dams, I was there, the fisherman told me.
A riot police officer in Rio de Janeiro's Rocinha shantytown takes part in an anti-drug operation, which left one alleged trafficker dead and a police agent wounded. I saw it all.
The world's largest egg goes on auction. I bought it and plan to have it on toast tomorrow morning. Going to the world's biggest frying pan auction tonight.

Sunday Walk
I was rather hungover come Sunday morning, and had nothing in the fridge besides a bottle of Apple & Mango Copella drink, that would normally suffice for a morning, but I needed to beat this headache, with the sun shining outside and my stomach rumbling, I had to venture out...I took my camera.
Hope you enjoyed your sunny weekend! Because as I type this rain is beating against the windows at my offices. Luckily I'm inside about to edit what possibly could be the best TropicalTV video yet...get excited.

New Harrington diary, Alex Zane, football and some viral fun!
Hey there TTV fans.
I've been busy, very busy.
Firstly, I'll tell you about my next video diary.
I finished it a few days ago but when I uploaded it to Youtube, it got taken down straight away for copyright infringement because of part of the music that I used.
But do not fear kids, when the other TTV members remind me of the Vimeo login details (get to it lads!) I'll upload it, and you will be enlightened.
Secondly, long story short. I won a competition to play football on a team managed by XFM's Alex Zane. It was an epic evening. I received a warm welcome from him and the rest of the XFM clique before kicking off at East London's Powerleague stadium. I voluntarily started as a (super) sub and this gave me the chance to talk with some of the other winners, which consisted of 2 other indie students, hence Dave Berry coining the sub bench "The Wombats."
I went on in the second half, playing on the right wing. I got stuck in to some nasty challenges, lost my right trainer, and left with some battle scars. It ended 3-3 but was settled by a penalty shootout. I didn't have to take a penalty thanks to some other goon missing, who happened to be one of the better players, hitting both posts and losing us the game. It was a closey.
The video will be probably be uploaded to XFM's website, along with a team photo and some other stuff. I'll keep you posted.
Anyway, after the match I ordered a pint on XFM's tab, and had a drink and a chat with Alex Zane who was pretty much the same as he is on the radio. What a man. There were a few people asking him for photos, but when I went up to him and said "Alex, can I bug you for another photo?" He replied "Harry Harrington, I want a picture with You."
Enjoy:
After this, he wanted a photo for himself, of me, my girlfriend, and my buddy. So he whipped out his phone and took a personal snap.
A great night, I just hope there is a rematch. I will suggest it.
Thirdly, I've been enjoying the rest of my time playing Super Stacker. It's a pretty amazing flash game, and Super Stacker 2 is even better. I have completed them both. Proof:
So get googling, and have fun.
Namaste, Harrington.
Talking of namaste, how good was the last LOST ep?

X-O MAN
Gotta big up my dawwwwg The X-O man. He is the best MC in the world over the height of 6'8ft. Yes he is really that tall. Huge man. Scary. But good.
Anyway, check out his new video below, then read a story about me and X-O Man at a party.
Yeah so, I was at a party in Brixton, and X-O Man was there, I pulled him aside as I had met him before, and we had a chat, he had an X-O Man t-shirt on that looked really good, nice design and ting. So I said 'Hey so can I get one of those then?' ...he replied 'Yeah come to the boot of my car later on, I will give you one. What size are you?' ...I replied ...'Medium please.' ...He said ...'Yeah alright come see me at my car after.' I didn't ask where he was parked and avoided him the rest of the night, 3am, Brixton, 6'8ft X-O Man, only Yemi for protection, it wasn't going to happpen. He could have killed me.
That is all.
**Note. I actually just forgot. Although he is kinda scary, I dont think he would have done anything to me that night, he could have if he wanted to though, he could easily rape me and three other men that are all over 6ft at once.

Google Me-Up
My screenshot game is weak, but below are a couple of quick ones I knocked out, witness a bunch of 'hoodies', 'chavs' or 'boys' at the end of my street plotting a 'shanking' or a 'murkage'. Either way it's pretty funny. I love the ends.
I see this becoming a feature now, each member or the TropicalTV team posting their house, but lets be honest this whole google street viewer thing is amazing. Here is my house, catch me pounding the concrete and chilling in leafy, sunny west london.
Big up my old lady neighbour Kim, she makes me food sometimes. And hot lemon and brandy drinks when I have a cold.
Bye.

Anyone Can Spy
Anyone can be a spy with Google Maps introducing the street level view to the UK after long last. Here we have Harrington's house, nice and close too. I don't think he minds me posting this, haven't asked. This is a new world who gives a shit.

Nintendo Wii can make you slim...
Taken from an article in The Times:
"Encouraging children to use interactive computer games such as the Nintendo Wii is to become part of a public health drive to tackle rising rates of obesity in the young.
A pilot project involving groups of overweight children in the East Midlands, who are being given gaming systems to encourage them to do more physical activity, is to be used as part of a strategy to address sedentary lifestyles.
Highlighting the scheme in his annual report, Sir Liam Donaldson, the chief medical officer, said that video gaming was a major cause of overweight and obesity in children and young adults.
He said that as stopping children playing video games was unlikely, studies and public health strategies were now focusing on the way systems could be used to improve health."
I hate fat people, but surely, you can give them tablets or something, or a bit of liposuction, video cgames are the answer to many of lifes problems(break-ups,. divorces, general unhappiness, boredom, laziness, gaining great hand eye co-ordination)...but not fatties.

FLEET FOXES @ BOWERY BAALLROOM
Found this video of everybodies favourite beardy, harmonising, pretty damn beautiful ...band. Yes Fleet Foxes! Live at New Yorks Bowery Ballroom, seriously, watch this, it will provide some well needed soul soothing. So grab a cuppa, sit back, press play and watch Fleet Foxes play their new single 'Mykonos'.
So good...

Black Goalkeepers
There has been talk in the media about the countries police forces not having enough black police officers, who cares about that, really? What really matters is the serious lack of Black goalkeepers. Shaka Hislop is the only good one in the history of European football... Dida and Tim Howard don't count, because they are wankers.

Internet-TV
Everyone's favourite digital channel Dave has recently commisioned internet comedy Toyboize, where the five, five-minute shorts will air at 11pm everynight next week. Producers are looking to extend the series to 12 episodes, if they get funind from someone else, little Dave are a bit too poor.
You may recognise Ewen MacIntosh, who played the scene stealing Keith in The Office. The show is about a former child boyband, attempting to make a comeback as adults. It really is very funny. Mire esto:

Charlton Brooker
Charlie Brooker, journalist, TV critic, writer and overall fellow is known mainly for his TV show Charlie Brooker's Screen Wipe, his Guardian column Screen Burn and his recent horror/drama Dead Set. He is brilliant, on-point and hilarious in his observations, which is why I thought I'd lead you to his internet ties. On his Guardian profile he supplements his weekly screen burn columns with topics ranging from Walker's crisps new flavours to the government vetoing an order for the release of cabinet minutes: http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/charliebrooker
He is also on that twitter thing I've been hearing about on the wireless. http://www.twitter.com/charltonbrooker. Learing his first name is actually Charlton not Charles makes me like him more.

From (virtual) place to place...
Hey TTV fans!
Harrington here.
So, I posted a previous blog about World of Warcraft and my adventures there. I basically feel as though my time in that world is up. I have a few more days of the free trial but I don't think I'd pay to play it. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing... and I'd like to pop on now and then to see how it's developed, but the world is way too intimidating. I enjoyed my time as a warlock, but I feel if i did get into it, it would become more of a chore than anything, as it has become for so many players.
Anyway, I decided to move on, and infiltrate another online phenomenon. Second Life. I can't really be bothered to give you a long description about it, so go to Wikipedia. Still here? Fine... in a nutshell it's an online virtual world, with no goal other than to live your life. Eat, sleep, go to work, repeat... a bit of virtual sex now and then. People become seriously indulged into this world and completely lose their own identity. After hearing so much about it (including the fact that Jimmy Carr done a live gig on it), I became very intrigued, and decided to investigate, for all those Tropical fans out there.
What is all the fuss about?
My answer? - I really don't know. I hated it. Not user friendly at all, horrible graphics, and a general "what is the point?" feel to it. I just didn't find it fun whatsoever, it was boring, annoying and I just wanted to close it and watch last weeks LOST episode another time. So I did, it's now removed from my computer (although annoyingly... some files are still left behind and are non-deletable!)
"Harrington, Harrington, where's our screen shots?!"
I got it covered, here are the best 2 moments from my half hour session of Second Life.
My avatar "Bunchy Bayn" - (they choose a surname for you) sitting with my first friend, Lo, who felt like telling me he was 51, and depressed.
Bunchy Bayn again, this was when I had got sick of all the confusion and the horrible user interface. I decided to take off all my clothes, and reside at the bottom of a nearby lake.
I will now move on to infiltrate something else and report back for TTV... any suggestions?
Comment!

Weekend ish..
Student life results in many activities:
-Missing lectures
-Getting drunk
-Waking up in a bed you really shouldn't be in
-Missing more lectures..
