Xbox 360's are not just for Christmas...

... they're for life kids (or at least for the next few years) and 2009 is no exception.

PS3 owners should be feeling left out this year as Microsoft revealed at the E3 gaming conference: not 1, not 2, not 3, but fuck loads of new features. I have listed 4 of the ones that I deem most exciting below for you lovely people;

1) Starting off with what is undoubtedly the most intriguing of them all, Project Natal. A new plug-in for the Xbox 360 which allows you to control the whole system with your body. (Microsoft perhaps trying to steal some of the Wii's thunder?) See the vid for more:

2) Microsoft and Sky are coming together to bring the Sky Player to the Xbox 360. Basically, if you live in the UK and you have a Sky subscription you can view loads of things on demand, and you can also watch live TV with your friends and their avatars. The video below will explain a bit more, skip past the first 40 seconds or so to get to the footage.

3) Joy Ride is a free racing game available to download soon from Xbox LIVE where you play as yourself, against your other friends avatars. It looks fun, and it's free.

4) Last and not least, it's 1 vs 100. No in all honesty, I don't know too much about this one yet. But I believe it's going to be the first of the four to hit our Xbox's this summer. First impressions suggest a real-time online gameshow for Xbox LIVE with the chance to win real prizes. Check the vid:

There are plenty more where they came from. Head over to the Official Xbox Youtube page for more, and of course the Xbox website. Facebook and Twitter on your Xbox? Obviously.

I am very excited and even slightly aroused by what seems to be a future-proof gaming system. Yes, now and then you get 3 red rings on the front of it, and it breaks completely and either takes weeks for Microsoft to repair, or you run out of warranty and have to fork out sixty quid, but we love it.

Xbox FTW!
I shall see you all online over the summer to test out these exciting new features:

Much love, Harrington. x
